This policy explains what personal information Sengiga ("we", "us") collects when you use our website and services, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We are an independent reseller of mobile data bundles and airtime in Ghana and we handle personal data in line with the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number and a password (stored only as a one-way hash).
- Order details: the network, bundle or airtime amount, and the recipient phone number for every order you place. The recipient number may belong to someone else if you buy for them.
- Support messages: anything you send us by phone, WhatsApp or email when you ask for help.
Information created when you use the service
- Wallet and transaction history: top-ups, purchases, refunds and manual adjustments, with balances and references.
- Payment references: the reference and amount for each Mobile Money or card payment. We do not receive or store your Mobile Money PIN or full card details.
- Technical data: standard server logs such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, used for security and troubleshooting.
2. How we use it
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To deliver the bundles and airtime you order to the recipient number you enter, and to show you your order history.
- To run your wallet, process payments, and issue refunds.
- To contact you about an order, a payment problem, or a change to the service.
- To detect fraud, abuse and duplicate payments, and to keep the platform reliable.
- To meet legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not send marketing messages you have not asked for.
3. Payments
Mobile Money and card payments are processed by our payment provider (Paystack). When you pay, your email address, the amount and an order reference are passed to the provider so the payment can be matched to your order. The provider handles your payment credentials under its own privacy policy; we never see your Mobile Money PIN or full card number.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal data only where it is needed to provide the service:
- Network operators and suppliers (MTN, Telecel, AirtelTigo and their wholesale partners) receive the recipient phone number and the bundle or airtime amount so the order can be fulfilled.
- Payment providers receive the data described in section 3.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers store our database and serve the website.
- Authorities where we are required to by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of our customers.
5. Cookies and browser storage
We use one essential cookie, dd_token, to keep you signed in. It contains a signed session token, lasts up to 7 days, and cannot be read by scripts. Signing out removes it. We also use your browser's local storage to remember a purchase you started on the home page until you sign in and complete it. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
6. How long we keep it
Your account, orders and wallet history are kept for as long as your account is open, and afterwards for as long as we need them for accounting, dispute resolution and legal compliance (normally up to six years for financial records). Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes and then deleted.
7. Security
Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Session tokens are signed and sent only over secure connections in production. Access to customer data is limited to staff who need it to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and contact us immediately if you think your account has been accessed without permission.
8. Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act you can:
- Access the personal data we hold about you. Most of it is visible in your account under Profile, Orders and Wallet.
- Correct your name and phone number at any time from your Profile.
- Delete your account. Contact support and we will close it and remove your personal details, keeping only the transaction records the law requires us to hold.
- Object to a particular use of your data, or complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana if you believe we have not handled your data properly.
9. Children
The service is intended for people aged 18 and over who can hold a Mobile Money account. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If a change significantly affects how we use your data we will tell you by email or with a notice on the site before it takes effect.
11. Contact
Questions about privacy or requests about your data can be sent to our support team by phone at support or on WhatsApp.
